When will we get a next generation 999 system and what will it look like?
60% of the UK’s 15 Million – Genuine 999 calls are made by mobile phone.
People rely on their smartphones to communicate and the voice call is only one of those ways as today multimedia applications have revolutionised the information and data that is sent.
This is West Midlands Fire Service 999 Eye Project,
developed by West Midlands Fire Service Emergency Response Team, looking to enhance the capabilities of the emergency call system and assist all points of contact in the process of emergncy response from Caller – Operator – Responder
The live public launch will take place in 2015 as West Midlands Fire Service will be joined by a range of other UK emergency services and local authority services.
